Professor Stan Houston, School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work, Queens University Belfast.

Stan Houston spent around 20 years in child and family social work in the greater Belfast area before moving to higher education as a lecturer in 1997. His interests lie in extrapolating critical social theory to social work practice. He also has an interest in German philosophy and ethics as a branch of philosophy. His research interests lie in action research and action learning and, in both methods, critical social theory is employed for foster change in social welfare contexts.

The Event will also include an opportunity for Practitioner responses.
